Chief Executive Officer
Sachin brings broad experience across both healthcare and technology, spanning a variety of leadership roles, including operations, finance, and development. Sachin joined Apixio in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer and later served as President and Chief Financial Officer before taking his current role. Sachin has extensive experience working with value-based care provider groups including Vantage Oncology, a national leader in community oncology, where he served as Vice President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer of Vantage Cancer Care Network, an innovative model for managing cancer populations. Sachin has also held positions with Citigroup Investment Banking and began his career in engineering roles with Cisco and IBM. Sachin holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Vice President, Operations Strategy
Jason is an experienced strategy, operations and analytics leader with over 20 years of experience across consulting and engineering. Jason joined Interpreta in 2020 and has been working in operations, client solutions, business development and marketing. Jason is an experienced consulting portfolio owner and c-suite advisor in the SaaS analytics space and has operations management, lean six sigma and lean kaizen experience at OEM manufacturers General Electric and Lockheed Martin. Jason brings broad cross-functional leadership to the Interpreta team focused on operational excellence and business development. Jason holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Maine, a MS in Mechanical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Benjamin Yu, M.D., Ph.D.
Vice President, Medical Informatics and Genomics
Dr. Benjamin Yu joined in 2014 and currently serves as Vice President, Medical Informatics and Genomics. Prior to joining Interpreta, Dr. Yu was a faculty member of the University of California San Diego and Institute for Genomic Medicine. Dr. Yu brings his experience as a leader in human variation and genomics. His publications in Nature, Cell Stem Cell, Developmental Cell and others have received over 2000 citations, and under his leadership his laboratory received more than 10 years of funding from NIH, California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr. Yu received his M.D., Ph.D. and residency training at Washington University. Dr. Yu is board-certified in dermatology and has been licensed to practice medicine in California since 2002. He continues to participate in training new students and residents in dermatology and genetics, and advises on San Diego’s Biocom Big Data Committee.
Jiong Huang, Ph.D.
Vice President, Quality Management
Dr. Huang joined Interpreta in 2018 as Vice President of Quality Management. Prior to joining Interpreta, Dr. Huang was with Amerigroup/Anthem for 12 years and led the enterprise quality data management team to manage national and state HEDIS®/HEDIS®-like reporting for all LOBs and end user enablement for care gap closure. Dr. Huang has nearly 20 years of HEDIS® operation management experience in the national and local setting, and an extensive background in quality measure development, data management, quality incentive programs, quality evaluation programs, and related audits. Dr. Huang received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from New York University, an M.S. in Business Information Management from Zicklin School of Business in Baruch College, and a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Science and Technology of China.
Vice President, Engineering
Haseeb joined in 2020 and currently serves as Interpreta’s Vice President of Engineering. Prior to joining Interpreta, Haseeb was with Change Healthcare for 5 years as Vice President of Product Development. Prior to that, he was Director, Application Development at Anthem Inc., and a Manager of Application Development at Kaiser Permanente. Haseeb has also previously worked at several technology companies including Sungard Data Systems and Oracle Corporation among others.
Raghu Sugavanam co-founded Interpreta in 2014 and currently serves as Interpreta’s President. Prior to founding Interpreta, Mr. Sugavanam was a founder, Chief Technology Officer and Principal Architect at Anvita, a clinical analytics company acquired by Humana in 2011. Prior to Anvita, he was a founder and President at Mercantile Software Systems, a high-performance database marketing system company acquired by Harte-Hanks in 1997. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Rutgers University, an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras.
Gary Rayner co-founded Interpreta in 2014. Prior to founding Interpreta, Mr. Rayner was the founder and Chief Executive Officer at Lifeproof, an all-protective, everyday smartphone and tablet case company acquired by Otterbox in 2013. Prior to Lifeproof, Mr. Rayner was the VP of Business Development at Anvita. Previously, he founded Drivecam and OpalTech. Mr. Rayner won E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year in San Diego in 2013 and has authored over 25 granted US patents. He holds an M.S. in Computer & Communication Systems and an MBA from Queensland University of Technology.
